I was thinking about houses, and came up with the following set of rules I’d follow if I had the leeway:

• The front door should enter into some sort of hallway or entryway. This area should have easy access to a closet.
• Televisions should not appear in the living room, nor the kitchen. The dining room is right out. The TV goes in the room with the pool table, the card table, and the eight year old copy of Trivial Pursuit. If necessary you can bring the Trivial Pursuit into the living room. This does not hold true for the television.
• The same holds true for the computers and desks. They can go in the room with the TV, or in an office, but should not be in the living room nor in the bedroom.
• Yard.
• And mow it.
• Master bedroom should face South, or S/SE.
• More than one bathroom.
